Can I mix your fittings, couplings and nuts with other manufacturers product? 

Cambridge Brass fittings, couplings, and nuts are not interchangeable with other manufacturers.  In using Cambridge Brass products, for the best fit and quality of your full compliment of waterworks brass should be Cambridge Brass.

 

What type of thread sealant should I use with Cambridge Brass Products? 

Cambridge Brass recommends using a thread sealant for installation that is an NSF approved pipe sealant with PTFE, High Viscostity and Medium Strength.

 

What type of wrench should I use with Cambridge Brass Products? 

Cambridge Brass will always recmmend a smooth-jaw wrench for tightening and working with our products.  The smooth jaw wrench is the safest tool to avoid any compromise to the structure of the fitting and ensure a secure connection each time with proper installation. 

 

What does No Lead mean and why is it important? 

No-Lead Brass is a carefully calibrated and manuactured in accordance AWWA standards.  Cambridge Brass is a product provider of his specfied material, now requred to meet municipal standards for the transport of safe drinking water to our communicaties.  No-lead or "lead-free" initiatives are in place to reduce and eventually elimiante lead leaching into municiple water for the health of our communicaties.

 

What is high grade copper and why is this quality important? 

High grade copper is a careful combination of three alloy elements: Zinc, Tin and Bismuth.  Bismuth acting as the lead replacement component ensures that Cambrdige Brass High Grade Copper complies with all No-Lead AWWA standards.  

 

What type of watermain are the Cambridge Brass Stainless Steel Saddles designed for? 

Cambridge Brass Saddles are compatible on the following pipe types: Ductile, cast iron, steel, PVC, and HDPE. 

 

What is NSF certification as it pertains to No Lead Brass? 

NSF is the method for determining "lead free" and indicates that the product is certaified meeting the weighted average of lead content which is less than or equal to .025%.  Look for NSF 372 and NSF 61 when learning more about no-lead brass. 

 

What does bottoming out mean and why is it important with my installation? 

The term "bottoming out" refers to inserting the pipe all the way into the fitting, joint or coupling to assure a secure fit when tighted to avoid a slip of the pipe or leak.

Cambridge Brass does not have a min order quantity.  Carton quantities are indicated in the attributes of each product search.  For stocking distributors, programs may indicate that carton quantities are recommended.
